KUALA LUMPUR — Superstar Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for one of the biggest promotional events in his career as the audio launch of his upcoming film Jana Nayagan is slated to take place at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Malaysia on December 27, 2025. Organisers expect a staggering 90,000 attendees, making it one of the largest overseas fan gatherings for a Tamil film launch in recent memory.
The event comes as Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, heads toward its global release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the festive Pongal season. The film is particularly significant as it marks Vijay’s final cinematic appearance before he focuses full-time on politics with his newly formed party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
🎵 Celebration Focused Solely on Entertainment
While anticipation for the audio launch is extremely high, Malaysian authorities have strictly regulated the event’s content. The Royal Malaysia Police have issued clear directives banning any political speeches, symbols, materials, convoys, or live broadcasts carrying political messaging in or around the venue. The move is intended to ensure the programme remains centred on cinema and music rather than political expression.
Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan confirmed that the permit was granted strictly for an entertainment event and cautioned that any violation of the imposed restrictions would invite stringent action.

The audio launch, also promoted as the “Thalapathy Thiruvizha” concert, will be headlined by the film’s music composer Anirudh Ravichander, promising a high-energy celebration featuring songs and live performances. Malik Streams Corporation, the organiser and Malaysia distributor of Jana Nayagan, has reiterated that the programme will fully comply with local regulations and remain politically neutral.
Tickets for the mega event have nearly sold out, with both VIP and general seating witnessing strong demand from fans across Malaysia and neighbouring regions.
