BJP Sees 53% Surge in Donations, While Congress and Other Parties Face Decline in 2024-25

BJP Donations Surge 53% in 2024-25

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reported a significant increase in donations for the fiscal year 2024-25, marking a 53% rise compared to the previous year. According to the latest financial disclosures submitted to the Election Commission, BJP collected over ₹1,200 crore in contributions, highlighting the party’s growing financial strength ahead of upcoming elections.

In contrast, the Indian National Congress and several regional parties witnessed a decline in their donation inflows. Congress reported a 12% drop in funds, raising concerns about its fundraising strategies and grassroots support. Smaller parties, including the Trinamool Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, also experienced a moderate decline in contributions.

Political analysts suggest that BJP’s robust fundraising is driven by a combination of organizational strength, digital outreach campaigns, and an extensive donor base. Experts note that such financial momentum could significantly impact election campaigning and party operations at both state and national levels.

While donations are just one aspect of political influence, the stark contrast between BJP’s growing fund inflows and Congress’ declining donations could shape the dynamics of electoral politics in the coming year.
